Advanced youth orchestra for string, wind, brass and percussion musicians 21 and under. Auditions: scales, solo and sightreading.

PHILHARMONIC

intermediate string, wind, brass and percussion

Intermediate youth orchestra for string, wind, brass and percussion musicians. Auditions: scales, solo and sightreading.

 

CHAMBER MUSIC

DAL SEGNO CAMPS

one-week day camps for strings, winds, brass & percussion grades 10 & under.

CRESCENDO

chamber music program, coached small ensembles rehearse and perform in the community.

Northern Valley Youth Orchestras is dedicated to providing enrichment opportunities and mentoring to promising young musicians, and excellent music for its varied audiences. NVYO is about making music, making friends, and making a difference in the community.​

Mission Statement

The purpose of NVYO shall be to provide an exceptional musical education experience to the members of the orchestras and chamber music programs and to provide artistic performances that enrich the lives of developing musicians, our communities, and our region.

Vision

Inspired young people achieving their full musical and personal potential while meaningfully engaging with and enriching their communities.

School Program Statement

Northern Valley Youth Orchestras believes it is important for all of its members to participate in their school music programs, if available, and expects such participation except in cases of unavoidable scheduling conflict. Participation in a school music group not only helps advocate for fine arts education, it is important for the development of ensemble and leadership skills which can in turn strengthen the NVYO ensembles.

NVYO ensembles are meant to complement and strengthen other music instruction and thus enhance musical development; they are not intended to be a replacement for school or private instruction.
